My name is Kirsty Rarity and I am the founder of Chatterboxes Speech and Language Therapy.
I have a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Speech and Language Therapy
I am a member of:
RCSLT (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists)
HCPC (Health and Care Professionals Council)
PVG (Protection of Vulnerable Groups - Disclosure Scotland)
Hanen More than Words Programme Speech and Language Pathologist/Therapist.
I have experience working with paediatrics and adults.
I started my SLT career in paediatrics, working in Elgin, Moray for NHS Grampian. During my time here I worked with a range of children from pre-school to high school. I supported those with speech sound delay/disorder; language delay/disorder; communication difficulties; children with an ASD diagnosis and children with additional support needs.
I then moved closer to home, back down to Glasgow, where I worked for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde (NHS GG&C) with adults. During my time in Glasgow, I worked supporting patients in Acute Stroke, Stroke Rehabilitation and on the Neurology wards. I have experience working with patients with aphasia, dysarthria, dysphonia, and dysphagia.
Currently, I work for NHS Highland covering Oban and the Islands. I am lucky enough to have a mixed caseload which means I work with both adults and paediatrics. I have continued to work with caseloads similar to those in NHS Grampian and NHS GG&C. I have become trained and a registered member of the Hanen: More than Words Programme which is aimed at supporting families with children who have ASD and/or social communication difficulties.
I offer a free no-obligation initial consultation. This means that you are able to speak with me, give me brief details about your concerns, and allows you time to ask any questions you may have. I am happy to answer any questions and to offer advice where I can.
